The Myths of Harry Potter How to be Ninja
These are just a few ideas people this year have already come up with. Teach something that interests you – find your passion!!! Then, share it with middle school students at S.T.I.N.G. Teach what you love because enthusiasm is contagious. Now it’s YOUR chance to light a spark in the next generation.
As a S.T.I.N.G. teacher, you may pick any subject that interests you and teach a “one-shot” class. Your class will be 40 minutes. It can be a hands-on, interactive class with only 10 students, or a lecture with 30. You can teach it once or several times throughout the day depending on your class’s popularity.
S.T.I.N.G. is a one-day program that occurs once a year, attracting hundreds of students from local middle schools. It is planned, taught, and run entirely by volunteers from Granite Hills High School.
Below is a recent course catalog
for a similar program at MIT, as well as last year’s STING catalog. Use then to help create ideas:
There will be two after school Teacher Training days to help with your curriculum and materials as well as lots of support from the teaching staff at Granite Hills. You should work with a mentor teacher to develop your final lesson plans in order to ensure a high quality experience for our middle school guests!
